A VPS is a virtual server with its own operating system. You receive root SSH access and can install apps, bots, websites, APIs, game servers and backend systems.

How do I connect to a VPS?
Open Terminal on Windows, Linux or macOS and use:
ssh root@SERVER_IPOn Windows, you can also use PuTTY.
Why is my SSH password not visible?
This is normal on Linux. Password characters are not displayed while typing. Enter the password and press Enter.
Useful VPS Linux commands
Update package list
apt updateRefreshes available packages on Ubuntu/Debian.
Upgrade system
apt upgrade -yInstalls available system and package updates.
Restart server
rebootRestarts the VPS.
Check disk usage
df -hShows used and free disk space.
Check RAM
free -mShows memory usage in MB.
View processes
topShows running processes and resource usage.

Web Hosting
Who is web hosting for?
For company websites, WordPress, blogs, landing pages, WooCommerce stores, small PHP apps and projects that do not need a dedicated VPS.
What is included?
DirectAdmin, PHP, MariaDB, SSL, FTP, email accounts, databases, Softaculous and backups depending on the selected plan.
How do I open hosting management?
Go to EagleHost Client Area → Web Hosting → Manage. You will find the DirectAdmin link and service details there.

File Manager
Upload, delete, edit and move website files without FTP.
Domain Setup
Add domains to hosting and point them to the correct website directory.
SSL Certificates
Enable Let’s Encrypt SSL so your website works through HTTPS.
MySQL Management
Create and manage databases for WordPress, stores and PHP applications.
Email Accounts
Create email addresses in your own domain.
DNS Management
Manage A, CNAME, MX and TXT records.
WordPress and Softaculous
Softaculous allows one-click installation of WordPress, Joomla, Laravel, phpBB, MyBB, WHMCS and many other applications.
Good to know: you do not need to upload files manually or create a database yourself. The installer can do it automatically.
Domains and DNS
DNS points your domain to the right server, hosting account or email service. If a domain is registered with another provider, set the correct nameservers in that provider’s panel.
A record
Points a domain to an IP address.
CNAME record
Creates an alias, for example www pointing to the main domain.
MX record
Defines email servers for the domain.
TXT record
Used for SPF, DKIM, DMARC and domain verification.
Email accounts
You can create email accounts in DirectAdmin and access them through webmail or configure them in an email client using IMAP/SMTP details.
